NEW! U.S. Department of Treasury-NGO Roundtable on Afghanistan

Chaired by Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo

    4:30PM-5:30PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021

    *Registration is required: https://ustreasury.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJIsce6orjwsG4yPgfzHRZL61WpLIe7Z48A

    Background
As you may have seen, last week, the Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued General License (GL) 16, which authorizes noncommercial, personal remittances to Afghanistan.  OFAC also amended Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) 931 and issued a new FAQ 949 to provide additional clarity.  This effort, along with Treasury's previous actions issuing GLs 14 and 15 and accompanying guidance, highlights the U.S. government's ongoing commitment to supporting the continued flow of humanitarian assistance and aid to the people of Afghanistan.

To discuss these actions and other issues related to Afghanistan, Treasury invites you to a Treasury-NGO roundtable on Afghanistan chaired by Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo.  Please note that registration is required.  Feel free to forward the invite to others in the NGO community.
