USAID Partners in Localization Workshop- Added Spots for In-Person Participation

  • 1.  USAID Partners in Localization Workshop- Added Spots for In-Person Participation

    Posted 06-06-2023 10:18

    Dear Humentum community,

USAID has asked for 10 additional nominations for their in-person localization workshop. If your organization has not yet been invited, please register your interest with me by EOD today, June 6th (jenna.thoretz@humentum.org). I will forward the nominations to USAID on a first-come-first-served basis!

    Information about the event:

USAID's Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL) helps shape USAID's development policy and programming guidance to ensure the Agency's work is grounded in evidence and reflects the most advanced thinking in international development. In partnership with the Bureau for Management (M), PPL will host a co-creation workshop gathering partners and thought leaders for a dialogue and brainstorming session to identify ways to support the Agency's localization efforts. PPL is advancing the Agency's efforts to increase direct funding to local organizations and increase local leadership in USAID programs by breaking through program design and development barriers.

The workshop, Partners in Localization: Designing for Change, will take place on June 12 and 13, 2023 from 10:00am to 4:00pm EST at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. To ensure inclusivity, there will also be a virtual component held simultaneously.

This workshop will provide the Agency with an opportunity to collaborate with partners about the kinds of support that are possible, feasible, and needed to help meet localization targets and broaden USAID's partner base. We expect the event to generate creative ideas and new thinking around localization and potential solutions that allow BOTH partners and USAID to support local funding and locally-led development goals.
