Total Rewards

Compensation, Benefits, and Allowances are components of Total Rewards. Compensation consists of fixed and variable pay in the form of wages, salaries and bonuses. Benefits & Allowances encompasses all indirect forms of compensation, including those legally mandated as well as those voluntarily provided by the employer. This category covers everything from the strategic, such as benefits designed to promote retention, to the tactical, such as member-recommended providers. Note that certain allowances, while not ‘compensation’, can still be monetized, thereby incurring tax implications.
